According to the Los Angeles Times, DEF LEPPARD drummer Rick Allen has put a home in Calabasas, California on the market for $1.888 million. The musician bought the 2,166-square-foot house in 2007 for $1.66 million.

Official description of the property from Zillow: "Contemporary country home in the coveted Edenwild area of Monte Nido, this home lovingly unites the beauty of nature inside and out. The Great Room is appointed with soaring ceilings, picture windows, stone fireplace and custom shelving that together create a warm and welcoming space perfect for large or small entertaining. Open to the Great Room, the bright kitchen showcases top-the-line appliances, dual sinks, Caesarstone-Quartz counters and open shelving. The gracious Master Bedroom features vaulted ceilings, built-ins, sliding glass doors that open to a private viewing balcony, the spa-like bath with excellent use of subway tile and stone flooring, showcases dual vanities, soaking tub and water closet. The community of Monte Nido is nestled in the Santa Monica Mountain Range with adjacent hiking and horse trails, serviced by the Blue Ribbon, award-winning, Las Virgenes Unified School District, and only minutes to both beaches and shopping."

December 2014 marked thirty years since the life-altering accident suffered by Allen in which he lost his left arm in an auto accident in England. Allen had to relearn how to play drums and drum manufacturer Simmons worked with him to build a kit. The band stuck with Allen through the difficult time and the drummer persevered through an accident that would have ended most people's careers.

Allen told ABC News in 2012: "I didn't know what my life would be like after that terrible day. It was the darkest time in my life… My desire is to encourage a support system for warriors, de-stigmatize PTSD, share their stories and offers alternative ways to pave the road to resiliency and health."
